Interior Arrangements, Inc., one of the country’s
outstanding redesign and real estate staging training
companies, proudly announces the opening of its new,
one of a kind training studio and practice lab at the Colorado
Plaza Building in Evergreen. Interior Arrangements,
Inc. offers 3 and 5-day redesign
and staging certification workshops for those interested in the field of interior
redesign and/or real estate staging.
“This expansion means that my students have
even more access to all the design elements that they’ll
see in the real world,” says Sandy
Dixon, owner
of Interior Arrangements, Inc, whose workshops include
live, work environment modules where students practice
their newly acquired redesign and staging skills in
area homes and in active listings. “We’ve
created commonly found decorating elements like mantles,
bookcases, artwork walls and accessories to give students
hands-on experience arranging and decorating. We cover
everything from color and fabric selection, accessorizing
tables, shelves and mantles, to how and where to hang
artwork. We even practice using power tools!” says
Dixon. Her highly interactive workshops also use real
life case studies to discuss both common and unusual
décor issues, along with creative problem solving
techniques for challenging rooms.
According to the Wall Street Journal’s RealEstateJournal.com,
staging can increase the selling price of a home from
2 to 10 percent. Realtors often advise sellers to hide
dirty dishes, brew an aromatic tea or bake cookies
to make potential buyers feel comfortable. Effectively
preparing a house to show at its best often goes well
beyond such obvious tips, though. That’s where
Dixon’s company comes in.
Students are taught the step-by-step techniques to
rearranging the existing contents of a room that works
every time in any home, regardless of how much or how
little there is to work with, whether things are new
or old or even match. They are given the forms and
methods to implement practical marketing and promotion
systems for growing their business and taking it to
the next level. Dixon’s unique ”Learn and
Earn” business philosophy teaches students how
to stimulate creative thinking, polish their professional
skills and build repeat and referral networks.
“The redesign and staging industry is attracting
entrepreneurs who want an exciting business that can
be done part-time or as a second or third career, beyond
just real estate agents adding it as a service to help
them get more listings and sell them faster. Anyone
with a passion for home decorating, who enjoys diversity
and utilizing their creative skills and who wants to
transform the interior of homes within a day, will
love this career,” continues Dixon.
Interior redesign can significantly reduce stress
in your life by eliminating the anxiety of decision
making and wondering where to start, and by giving
rooms a fresh, relaxing and inviting new feel. Many
people start using their rooms again and entertaining
more once they’ve been redesigned.
Dixon draws individuals interested in her interior
redesign and real estate staging workshops from across
the country, including professional organizers, real
estate agents, interior designers, property managers,
those seeking a new career that gives them a creative
outlet, or retirees looking for an active, part-time
career. She also travels the country presenting her
workshops, and incorporates a mentoring service to
coach business owners.
Dixon, who started Interior Arrangements in 2002,
is a former real estate agent who has a background
in marketing, training and sales management. She first
became fascinated with the “use what you already
have” design philosophy as a corporate executive
traveling extensively for business. Before unpacking
her suitcase, she would instinctively rearrange the
furnishings of her hotel room, as well as personalize
the space by adding potpourri, candles and framed,
family photos that she had brought from home “When
you find the activity that when doing it, you lose
track of time, forget to eat and get totally immersed
in it, you’ve found your passionate purpose in
life. Doing this and teaching others to do the same
is mine,” concludes Dixon.
